The name of the Rottensteiner family originates from the red stone typical of the South Tyrolean region, porphyry. It's here that Hans Rottensteiner 50 years ago fulfilled the dream of producing his wine. The winery was born in 1956 and since then has become a family affair, from generation to generation, continuing until today to use the fruits of the 10 hectares of family vineyards, and the grapes of over 60 farmers in the area. An authentic and passionate production, which takes into account the typical features of the individual varieties, in particular those typical of the Bolzano area such as Lagrein and Santa Maddalena.

The Pinot Nero Rottensteiner comes from the vineyards on the hills around Bolzano. After fermentation at a controlled temperature of 25 ° C in steel, the wine is left to mature in oak barrels to enhance its aromatic complexity. It goes very well with red meats, game and spicy cheeses.
