The name of the Rottensteiner family originates from the red stone typical of the South Tyrolean region, porphyry. It's here that Hans Rottensteiner 50 years ago fulfilled the dream of producing his wine. The winery was born in 1956 and since then has become a family affair, from generation to generation, continuing until today to use the fruits of the 10 hectares of family vineyards, and the grapes of over 60 farmers in the area. An authentic and passionate production, which takes into account the typical features of the individual varieties, in particular those typical of the Bolzano area such as Lagrein and Santa Maddalena.

Lagrein Rottensteiner comes from homonymous grapes grown on the alluvial soils of the Talvera river in Bolzano, which greatly contribute to the strong personality of this wine. The fermentation takes place in concrete tanks at a controlled temperature of 30 ° C and then matures in large oak barrels for 5/6 years. Ideal with red meats, game, mature cheeses.
