Pinot Nero Fallwind

The St Michael - Eppan winery is located on the outskirts of Bolzano, in a small town in the heart of the most important wine-growing area in the region.

It was founded in 1907 and today has 340 families of winemakers who have shared and passed on the values ​​and principles underlying their work, a work made of tradition and quality. Thanks to union and love for the land and the environment, the St Michael - Eppan winery continues to produce unique wines. In particular, four lines are produced: Appius, Sanct Valentin, Selezione, Classica. The wine is matured in steel, wooden barrels and barriques - tonneaux. Respect for the grapes is the key principle that guides the winemaking process: tradition is combined with technological innovations, the particularities of the individual grapes are preserved and enhanced, offering an absolutely unforgettable product.

Pinot Nero Fallwind di San Michele Appiano begins vinification in mid-September and the selection and harvesting takes place manually. The vines are located on gravelly soils with a calcareous content and the presence of clay. The grapes grow on the wine route in Appiano and Termeno (420-550 meters above sea level). Fallwind Pinot Noir ferments in steel barrels, then refinement takes place in barrique-tonneau for approximately 12 months with a malolactic fermentation, to finish the process with assembly and maturation in concrete barrels.
