The family-run Château Rioublanc winery in the Bordeaux appellation, certified organic by the ECOCERT organization since 2012, produces quality organic wines every year. Its construction dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. A beautiful "Girondine" of 250 square meters in freestone, with an adjoining cellar and large farm buildings. The Château Rioublanc winery continues today to plant productive vines, often white: ugni blanc, colombard, merlot blanc or even direct producer hybrids such as the famous noah. In 1963, with the estate which has 38 hectares, of which only 5 are vineyards, he began a wine business in the north of France and, for many years, all commercial revenues were invested in the development of the vineyard. Direct contact with customers soon reinforced the idea of the need to bet on quality. In 1972 there was the first vintage vinified at the Château. This was followed by the exit from the cooperative cellar and the cessation of milk production, becoming exclusively a wine estate. During all the years that followed, Edouard Carretero shared his life between St Ciers d'Abzac for production and the north of France for sales. In 1989 there was a rapid development of the company: planting of vineyards, expansion of buildings, purchase of a refrigeration unit for winemaking and then of a bottling unit. In 1994 the vineyard reached 40 hectares, with 36 hectares of red (60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc) and 4 hectares of white (Sauvignon and Sémillon), followed by a new extension of the cellar to bring the whole vineyard with high density: 5000 vines / ha. After 10 years of sustained growth, Château Rioublanc focused on a high quality approach. It is also the end of door-to-door sales in the North. In 2009 the most important event was the conversion of the entire vineyard (47 hectares) to organic farming. With, once again, an innovative approach: the use of rotofil (an ideal complement to respect the terroir), accompanied by an important investment plan: automatic sorting table, pneumatic press with closed cage for skin maceration (production of whites and more aromatic rosés), a vibrating collection box (without augers) and a new, more efficient wood-burning boiler. Today, faced with the demands of the company, Château Rioublanc is confirmed in the sustainable approach to its development: for many years they have mastered their distribution and rely on a solid team. Now, the challenge is to reconcile high quality wine with respect for the environment and the terroir, thanks to an economic, environmental and social model with a "virtuous" domain.

Brut Nature Château Rioublanc is a very successful organic wine. The grapes come from soils placed on a silty and clayey plateau, with iron slag. They are harvested manually, in crates, to avoid any shredding or oxidation. With a yield per hectare of 60 hl / Ha, the initial vinification is identical to the classic Crémant version, but there are some important differences: no addition of sulphite, no filtration and no sugar in the liqueur d'expédition. The grapes are gently pressed and left to macerate for 4 hours on the skins, with a second fermentation, with aging on the lees for 18 months and then manual remuage and disgorgement à la volée.

The Brut Nature Château Rioublanc shows a fine and persistent perlage of a straw yellow with golden reflections. The nose has specific notes of apple, rose petals and honey, as well as some notes of brioche.
On the palate it is fine, rather lively (zero dosage) with a sulphite-free character that enhances its minerality, intense, fragrant and inviting sapidity.
