The history of the Frescobaldi family dates back to medieval Florence and Tuscany, greatly influencing their history for centuries to come. Patrons were responsible for the construction of the Santa Trinità bridge in Florence and the Basilica Santo Spirito, and the works of the famous musician of the 1700s Girolamo Frescobaldi conquered the whole Europe. In the world of wine they were considerably influential since 1855, introducing transalpine vines in Tuscany such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, and making a decisive contribution to the development and notoriety of Tuscan viticulture. Today, in the numerous estates owned by the Frescobaldi family, wine is produced with great attention to the terroir of origin, respect for the diversity of the territories, environmental sustainability and the promotion of Tuscan culture through each single label and the countless experiences to be lived at each individual estate.

The Benefizio Riserva Frescobaldi comes from the Benefizio vineyard which is located at an altitude of 700 m a.s.l., with a southern exposure and a predominantly sandy soil. The Chardonnay grapes were harvested in boxes by hand with extreme care and attention. Once they arrived in the cellar, the pressing to which they were subjected was extremely soft and delicate, allowing from the outset a good extraction of clear must, further clarified after cold decantation. The musts thus obtained were placed in barriques, 50% new and 50% first passage, where they underwent alcoholic fermentation and only partially the malolactic fermentation. Subsequently the wine is aged in wood, on the lees, with bâtonnage carried out as needed. After a further period of aging in the bottle, Benefizio Riserva has reached its maximum taste-olfactory expression in terms of elegance and harmony.

The Benefizio Riserva Frescobaldi is told, once again, with extreme elegance. Its bright straw yellow color with golden reflections is a prelude to a beautiful structure. The bouquet ranges from fruit, to flower, to spice to end with delicate tertiary notes. On the nose, the initial citrus scent, reminiscent of candied orange peel and pink grapefruit, blends with the tropical one of pineapple. The floral notes, which appear later, are reminiscent of acacia, mimosa and magnolia. Time gives a continuation on vanilla, cinnamon, toasted hazelnut and the pungent itch of ginger. On the palate it confirms its indisputable elegance revealing itself to be structured, creamy, savory and with a solid and long finish.
