Specification

Above the vineyard Ripa is located on the edge of the medieval village of Sovana in the town of Sorano in the province of Grosseto at a height of 350 meters above sea level. It is suspended on a strip of land between Mount Amiata and the sea, where the temperature ranges throughout the year reaching 50 degrees. The cold brought by the peaks of the mountains often snow-covered in winter alternates with sirocco strong currents that come from the Maremma coast. The ten hectares of vines are planted company, on a tuff and volcanic soil, Sangiovese 70%, Merlot 10%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5%, 2.5% alicante, ciliegiolo 12.5% ​​with a mean age of the vine between 10 and 49 years. Pruning is done in the months of January-February leaving two buds per spur and six per plant.
