The history of the Frescobaldi family dates back to medieval Florence and Tuscany, greatly influencing their history for centuries to come. Patrons were responsible for the construction of the Santa Trinità bridge and the Basilica Santo Spirito in Florence, and the works of the famous musician of the 1700s Girolamo Frescobaldi conquered the whole of Europe. In the world of wine they were considerably influential since 1855, introducing transalpine vines in Tuscany such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, and making a decisive contribution to the development and notoriety of Tuscan viticulture. Today, in the numerous estates owned by the Frescobaldi family, wine is produced with great attention to the terroir of origin, respect for the diversity of the territories, environmental sustainability and the promotion of Tuscan culture through each label and the countless experiences to be lived at each individual estate.

The Pomino Pinot Nero Frescobaldi is an unmistakable expression that embodies the uniqueness of this territory, suited to varieties that express its style and elegance. The grapes, once harvested, were fermented in conical oak barrels of 60 hl, at a controlled temperature and with manual punching, especially in the early stages, which favor the right extraction of anthocyanins and polyphenols from the skins. The maceration time was two weeks overall. The alcoholic fermentation was followed by the malolactic fermentation in French oak barriques. The Pinot Noir continued aging in barriques for another 12 months. The further period in the bottle, before being able to taste it, has completed its qualitative journey.

The Pomino Pinot Nero Frescobaldi has a wonderful color, limpid ruby ​​red with some garnet reflections. An eloquent and passionate wine. Its nose ranges from fruit to flower with elegant shades of roasting, ink and leather. The fruity scents are reminiscent of wild strawberry, raspberry, cherry followed by notes of fresh rose. The references to officinal herbs and roasting are also interesting. Mineral and fresh on the palate, the sweet tannins are synergistically integrated with the acidity of the backbone.
