Chardonnay

Casali Maniago is a historic winery with roots dating back to 1585. For nearly 500 years, the family has dedicatedly managed the Buttrio-based winery, cultivating 112 hectares of vineyards. The production philosophy is based on quality, respect for the environment, and appreciation of the terroir, elements that make each wine an authentic expression of Friuli.

This Chardonnay Friuli Colli Orientali DOC is produced in the Tenuta Sottomonte vineyards, on marly-clay soils. Vinification is done off the skins, with soft pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation to preserve the varietal aromas. Maturation on the lees in stainless steel adds complexity and structure, while bottle aging completes the wine's profile.

It has a bright straw yellow color with greenish highlights. The nose reveals elegant notes of white-fleshed fruit, apple, exotic fruit, white flowers, and bread crust. On the palate, it is full-bodied and smooth, with balanced acidity and a pleasant, persistent mineral finish. Perfect as an aperitif, it pairs well with light appetizers, soups, fish dishes, and soft cheeses.
