Refosco

The Torre Rosazza estate has been present in the Friulian territory since time immemorial, founded in 1600 as a fortress and then used as a home by the Antonini family, nobles from Udine, who gave new life to the medieval tower, transforming it into the manor house which became their home, becoming Turris Rosacea. Subsequently to the Antonini family the estate passed to the De Marchi family who unfortunately after the defeat of Caporetto were forced to abandon the estate which ended up under Austrian hands, only to return under Italian control at the end of the war. The Rosazza estate enjoys a unique terroir, a few steps from Udine and near the border with Slovenia. You are enchanted by the beauty of the terraced vineyards, meticulously cared for, which embellish the "Ponca" soil, composed of sediments and minerals with a low percentage of organic material.

The Refosco of Tenuta Torre Rosazza is a wine that comes from grapes coming from vines that are between 20 and 25 years old. After pressing and destemming, the pomace is left to macerate in contact with the musts at temperatures between 25° and 28° C for 4-5 days in large steel tanks. Frequent pumping over allows excellent color extraction and good body. Aging in concrete tanks for 4 months.

The Refosco Friuli Grave by Torre Rosazza has an intense ruby ​​red, with faint purple hues. The scent is typical, intense and pleasantly "wild": it is vinous, reminiscent of raspberry, blackberry, violet, pepper, wet earth, aromatic field herbs. In the mouth it has freshness, lively tannin, lots of flavor and a good length on the palate. It has a fresh and subtle taste that gives freshness to the drink, balanced with an excellent consistency.
