Casali Maniago is a historic winery with roots dating back to 1585. For nearly 500 years, the family has dedicatedly managed the winery located in Buttrio, cultivating 112 hectares of vineyards. The production philosophy is based on quality, respect for the environment, and appreciation of the terroir, elements that make each wine an authentic expression of Friuli.

This Merlot Friuli Colli Orientali DOC is made from select grapes grown on the hills of Buttrio. The red wine vinification involves a cold pre-fermentation maceration followed by fermentation with prolonged contact between the must and the skins, to best extract structure and noble components. Maturation in barrels and subsequent bottle aging provide balance, complexity, and a remarkable ability to evolve over time.

It displays an intense ruby ​​red color. The nose is broad and generous, with hints of morello cherry, violet, berries, and cherry jam. On the palate, it is dry and soft, with evident yet balanced tannins; It is rich, concentrated, and persistent. Perfect with boiled meats, roasts, grilled meats, and hard cheeses.
