Les Schistes

Built by the noble Loré de la Ragotiere family in the 14th century in the Loire Valley in the atlantic side of France, the Château de la Ragotière estate was purchased in 1979 by the Couillaud brothers. After acquiring the property, Bernard, François and Michel discovered an old cellar in the chapel which housed wines from vintages dating back to 1947. It was then that the three brothers decided to carry on the tradition of producing Muscadets, a typical high quality and long lasting French wine. Today with Amélie, Bernard's daughter, and her husband, Vincent Dugué, we are in the second generation and the excellent wines produced confirm the foresight of the choice made about 40 years ago.

Les Schistes of Château de la Ragotière is a Muscadet from pure Melon de Bourgogne grapes, produced according to the principles of organic agriculture in total respect for nature.
