For generations, the Fuselli family has carried on the philosophy of Terre del Marchesato, a winery that authentically embodies the Bolgheri tradition. With Papeo, Maurizio wanted to celebrate a place from his childhood: Poggio Papeo, a hill between Bolgheri and Monteverdi where, as a boy, he accompanied his grandfather Emilio to collect firewood. This emotional bond is now expressed in a wine that symbolizes their roots.

Marchesale is the flagship wine of Terre del Marchesato, now a DOC Bolgheri Superiore. Initially a pure Syrah, since 2017 it has evolved into a refined blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, expressing the elegance of the Bolgheri terroir to the fullest. Vinification takes place in conical stainless steel vats with long maceration, followed by extensive aging in French oak barriques and further bottle aging.

It presents an intense, bright ruby ​​red in the glass. On the nose, aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, and ripe fruit emerge, accompanied by elegant balsamic notes of mint, black pepper, citrus, and bergamot. On the palate, it is structured, smooth, and balanced, with pleasant hints of bitter cocoa and a long, persistent finish. Perfect with pappardelle with pork ragù, grilled meats, roast suckling pig, porchetta, and aged cheeses such as Pecorino and Parmigiano. Extraordinary with Florentine steak.
