Tignanello Antinori

Antinori Tignanello is one of the flagship wines of the renowned Tuscan winery. The Tignanello Estate is located in the Greve in Pesa Valley, in the heart of Chianti Classico, in a vineyard where the Antinori winery expresses its production philosophy more than anywhere else: combining tradition and modernity through wines tied to their homeland. Antinori Tignanello is produced only here, on limestone soil with tuffaceous elements, at an altitude of 350 to 400 meters above sea level, and only in the finest vintages.

The 2018 Tignanello is the product of a season characterized by fairly regular weather, with a cold winter and little rainfall, and a cool and rainy early spring. The warm summer, without excessive heat, brought slightly above-average rainfall, which favored healthy growth of both the vines and the grapes. From late August to September and October, excellent weather allowed the grapes to ripen perfectly, and harvest began in the second ten days of September. The result is, as always, an extraordinary red, intense and deep in color.

The 2018 Tignanello is striking on the nose with its complexity: notes of ripe red fruit, black cherry, sour cherry, and currant, blend with sweet hints of vanilla, mint, and delicate sensations of white pepper and myrtle. On the palate, it is enveloping and graceful: soft, vibrant tannins are supported by excellent freshness, lending length, elegance, and persistence. The 2018 Tignanello is a complex and persistent red wine, with great personality and in true Antinori style.
