Tarabuso

For generations, the Fuselli family has carried on the philosophy of Terre del Marchesato, a winery that authentically embodies the Bolgheri tradition. With Papeo, Maurizio wanted to celebrate a place from his childhood: Poggio Papeo, a hill between Bolgheri and Monteverdi where, as a boy, he accompanied his grandfather Emilio to collect firewood. This emotional bond has now translated into a wine that symbolizes their roots.

Tarabuso is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon, trained using the single spurred cordon system. After harvesting, the grapes ferment in conical stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature (24–26°C), with a 10–15-day maceration period that allows for the balanced extraction of color, aromas, and tannins. It is then aged for 18 months in new French oak barriques, during which malolactic fermentation takes place to soften the aromas. Finally, the wine ages for at least 12 months in bottle before being released, achieving structure, harmony, and complexity.

Intense ruby ​​red color with garnet highlights, dense and clear in the glass, aromas of ripe red fruit (black cherry, cherry), vegetal notes of bell pepper and hay, candied fruit (orange), delicate spices (white pepper), balsamic notes (dried bay leaf, juniper), and a complex finish of cocoa, cinchona, and tobacco.
Flavor: Warm entry, persistent red fruit, soft and velvety tannins, excellent structure and length. Ideal with pappardelle with game, lamb ragù, duck à l'orange, osso buco with marrow, lamb, and aged cheeses such as Pecorino Toscano.
