Pieve di Campoli is a farm of historical and productive importance, located in the heart of Chianti Classico, one of the most prestigious controlled designations of origin (DOCG) in the world. Born from the desire to enhance the real estate and agricultural heritage of the Archdiocese of Florence, the company today represents a point of reference for the production of high-quality wines and extra virgin olive oils. Founded in 1985, following the creation of the Diocesan Institute for the Support of the Clergy, Pieve di Campoli has always sought to reconcile the Tuscan winemaking tradition with the most modern cultivation and winemaking techniques. The company philosophy is based on principles of environmental sustainability, enhancement of the territory and respect for ancient agricultural practices. The company has over 50 hectares of vineyards, located within the territories of Chianti and Chianti Classico. The vineyards, characterized by a great variety of soils and microclimates, are mainly cultivated with Sangiovese, the native grape par excellence of Chianti. The company has modern facilities for winemaking and oil production, as well as a historic cellar where the wines are refined. Pieve di Campoli also offers the opportunity to visit the company, taste the products and participate in events and initiatives related to the world of wine and oil. Pieve di Campoli is strongly committed to social issues and the territory. The company collaborates with various local entities to promote the culture of wine and oil, support environmental initiatives and offer job and training opportunities.

The Chianti 2023 by Pieve di Campoli represents an authentic expression of the Chianti Classico territory. The blend of grapes, expertly selected and vinified, enhances the typical characteristics of Sangiovese, giving the wine a fruity and spicy aromatic profile, combined with an elegant and persistent tannic structure. The aging in wood, although moderate, helps to give the wine a light complexity and a pleasant roundness. Alcoholic fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature, followed by maceration on the skins to favor the extraction of color and aromas. Aged partly in steel and partly in large wooden barrels for a few months.

Intense ruby ​​red color, with garnet reflections that denote a vigorous youth and a potential for evolution. Complex and enveloping nose, characterized by a fruity bouquet of notable intensity. Hints of small ripe red fruits, such as blackberries, cherries and currants, enriched by delicate floral nuances of violet and sweet spices, such as vanilla and cinnamon, are clearly perceived. A light balsamic and mineral touch completes the olfactory profile, giving the wine a pleasant freshness. On tasting it presents itself with a medium-full body, balanced and harmonious. The tannic structure is present but silky, enveloping the palate with elegance. The well-integrated acid freshness balances the sweetness of the fruit, giving the wine a pleasant persistence. The finish is long and persistent, with returns of red fruit and spicy notes. It pairs perfectly with tasty first courses based on meat, grilled red meats, roasts, game and semi-mature cheeses. Its versatility also makes it ideal to accompany cured meats and one-dish meals.
