Modus Primo

Mundus is a Latin word that recalls method and measure, it is the modern expression of Ruffino in the union of three noble varieties of grapes. Modus is a Supertuscan born in 1997, critically acclaimed. Modus Primo represents the evolution of Modus obtained through a further selection, in each vintage, of the excellence of the Poggio Casciano terroir.

The harvest is carried out at the beginning of September, with the Merlot, instead for the Sangiovese, in the second part of the month and for the Cabernet Sauvignon at the beginning of October. The fermentation takes place in steel tanks for 10 days with a subsequent maceration of 15 days for the Sangiovese, 20 days for the Merlot and 25 days for the Cabernet Sauvignon followed by malolactic fermentation. Finally an aging of 18 months in new French oak barrels.
