The La Staffa winery is well represented by the personality and attitude of a young Riccardo Baldi born in 1990, who today successfully run it, who thanks to his passion for the land and his millenary wine tradition, was able to give value to that resistant peasant culture that winds through the hills of Staffolo, around a town that takes its name from its history and the wine it produces. So from a farmhouse with two hectares of vine, acquired in 2004 by the Baldi family for its own production, is born an organic farm of 10 hectares, purchased in the following years, that produces strongly identifiable artisan wines, representative of a philosophy that respects the tradition and sustainability.

Selva di Sotto is the new reserve of Verdicchio by  La Staffa, which has just been presented with the recognition of "Grande Vino" by the Slow Wine guide. It was born from the meeting of Riccardo Baldi with the highest vineyard in Staffolo at 500 meters high planted in 1974, which has its roots in a stony ground, and with Carlo Pigini Campanari winemaker historian of the Colonnara winery to whom we owe the best vintages by the historic Cuprese who made Verdicchio great at the turn of the 80s and 90s. Hence the dream and the bet won to produce a wine with an ancient technique, which after 3 years of hard work gave life to Selva di Sotto, a wine of excellence and appreciated by the finest palates all over the world.
