Cuprese is an organic wine that represents the true symbol of the Colonnara winery, it perfectly embodies the character of the Verdicchio grape. It shows a straw yellow with greenish reflections, tending to golden with aging. On the nose initially fruity and floral hints stand out, then leave room for complex notes of flint. On the palate it's full-bodied and balanced.
The history of the Colonnara cooperative brings us back to 1959, when a passionate group of 19 winemakers founded the winery in Cupramontana, on the Marche region hills where verdicchio reigns. The passion for the land and the obsessive care for the vineyard were the secret that led the winery today to count 110 members who cultivate 120 hectares of vineyards according to an eco-sustainable and nature-friendly approach.
Cuprese is a Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore produced since 1985 in the vineyards of Cupramontana, Maiolati and Staffolo in the Marche region. The land on which the vines extend are of marine origin, with a prevalence of sand and clay, which help to outline the personality of the wine. The harvest is manual, and the vinification takes place in steel at a controlled temperature, to be then bottled the following spring. In the qualitatively more propitious years, the wine ages in the bottle for several years.
