Although the origin of the Gewürz-Traminer variety is still unknown, the assonance of its name with the village of Tramin certainly can not be a coincidence. It has been shown that this variety has its roots right here, in the northernmost regions of Italy, where already the Romans crossing the Alps had come across a solid local wine culture.Tramin is also the country of origin of Elena Walch, and here are still home to its cellars and the beautiful Kastelaz vineyard. The village of Caldaro, located north of Tramin along the wine route, is one of the most important wine towns in South Tyrol. Here, halfway between the lake of the same name and the town, lies the main estate of the company: Castel Ringberg. The vineyard surrounds the imposing castle, which dominates the evocative landscape reflecting itself in the lake.
South Tyrol is located in the northernmost wine region of Italy, in the southern part of the Alps. Surrounded by the beauty of the Dolomites, a UNESCO heritage, the region is a cultural and culinary crossroads. The wines reflect its many facets, making South Tyrol one of the most awarded wine regions in Italy. The vinification takes place with a long contact with the skins for a period of 10 days. Fermentation at controlled temperature in steel. It follows the malolactic fermentation and the aging partly in large oak barrels and partly in steel.

The grapes are softly pressed and the must undergo static clarification. Subsequently it is fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18 ° C. The wine then ages for several months on its lees in stainless steel containers. The Müller Thurgau is presented in a soft straw-yellow color, and impresses with its pleasant notes of aromatic herbs, nutmeg and hints of apricot. The freshness of the wine gives youth and delicate structure to every sip.
