Ruffino is an important Italian wine company founded in Pontassieve, in the province of Florence, in 1877, which is made up of the production heart of the country and several estates in Tuscany, located in the municipalities of the main denominations.

The Romitorio di Santedame Chianti Classico Gran Selezione produced by Tenute Ruffino is a wine born in the rural and wild area of ​​the southern Tuscan Maremma. The vineyards are located around Scansano, located on the hills overlooking the sea at an altitude of 150-200 meters. The soil is predominantly clay-sandy, with medium skeleton and low level of limestone. The alcoholic fermentation lasts approximately 10 days and takes place in thermo-conditioned stainless steel vats at a temperature of 28°C. Maceration on the skins continues for approximately another 10 days, then followed by malolactic fermentation. Finally, the aging lasts approximately 24 months in oak barrels and 6 months in the bottle.
