Villa Antinori Rosso is an ideal wine for many occasions in which traditional Italian dishes are the host. It has a deep red with a rich and intense nose and a good body with a gentle tannin texture.
The Antinori family is dedicated to wine production for over six hundred years - since, in 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori became part of the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri. Today the company is managed by the Marquis Piero Antinori, with the support of the three daughters Albiera, Allegra and Alessia, involved in first person in the company activities. Tradition, passion and intuition have meant that today the company is one of the leading wine producers in Italy. Throughout its long history, through twenty-six generations, the Antinori family has maintained direct management with cutting-edge and sometimes courageous choices, but always maintaining the respect for the traditions and the territory unaltered. Every year, every land, every idea that you want to put in place is a new beginning, a new search for higher and higher quality margins. As Marquis Piero likes to say: "ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit." The grapes, after being de-stemmed and softly pressed, were introduced into stainless steel tanks where the alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of no more than 30 ° C. The maceration lasted about 20 days, during which mechanical interventions were carried out aimed at the controlled extraction of aromas, structure and sweet tannins. At the end of the malolactic fermentation, carried out in stainless steel tanks for the Sangiovese and in second and third passage barriques for the Cabernet Sauvignon, the various batches were assembled and continued their refining in wood mainly in large and partly in barrique, until spring.
Villa Antinori Rosso is a wine created in 1928 to symbolize the Antinori family, its history and identity. A wine that derives from Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese, Cabernet and Petit Verdot grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are gently de-stemmed and transferred to special containers at a controlled temperature. The grapes are vinified separately and undergo different fermentations to achieve the best result from each variety. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred to French, Hungarian and American oak barrels where maturation begins.
Villa Antinori Rosso has a deep red with a complex nose rich in aromas, among which wild berries, blueberries, plums and toasted notes such as hazelnuts, spices and vanilla stand out. On the palate it gives a good body, round and pleasant with a gentle and velvety tannin.
