The history of the winery began 150 years ago, already in the farsighted sign of eco-sustainability obtained from the natural stone subsoil, it was subsequently modernized and transformed into one of the most beautiful and richest traditional wineries in South Tyrol.

The roses scent and the lively foam call to the mind red fruits, desserts and cocktails as from a romantic landscape picture, very appreciated from women for its red ruby, brilliant and charming colour. Timorasso is a vine native to the province of Alessandria, a quality white grape, primarily cultivated in the Curone, Grue, Ossona and Val Borbera, in an area where the vine is a valuable habitat due to the terrain, the long sunshine and the position sheltered from the winds.
Teanum comes from the name of the ancient roman city Teanum Apulum. This city was situated where nowadays exists the city of San Paolo di Civitate. This antique city was so important for the Romans that today the whole region it is called “Puglia” as a derivation of “Apulum”.
This is a very elegant wine embodying its land of origin, and named after the mythical Dioskouroi, “sons of Zeus”, to whom the ancient Temple of Castor and Pollux is dedicated. This wine is produced by using purity vinification of Bellone grapes. This latter is a local species of grape also known as “uva pane”, due to its thin and delicate skin.
Dolcetto is the most typical of the varietals grown in Piedmont. With its own grapes, Tenuta Carretta makes a wine as pleasant and drinkable as an “everyday wine” for convivial occasions should be.
The Barbera variety made its first appearance at Tenuta Carretta in the early 1900s. Made in the traditional way, it is a very elegant, drinkable wine of exceptional quality.
Roero’s oldest, most fascinating white varietal, the name Arneis probably comes from “Bric Renesio”, the rise near Tenuta Carretta.
