Verdeca

Masseria Li Veli was born with the project of giving a new life to quality Apulian wines, a region known until the end of the 1990s only for its production of large quantities of grapes per hectare.
It stands on the ruins of an ancient Messapian site dating back to the Middle Ages, where the ancient founder Antonio de Viti de Marco (1858-1943) managed to develop a model winery for the whole of Southern Italy.
Today led by the Falvo family, who have over 40 years of experience in the wine sector, they create excellent wines, in perfect symbiosis with their land, but above all ambassadors of the Salento area and Puglia more generally.

Askos is the name of the Masseria Li Venti project dedicated to research, selection and valorisation of the heritage of native Apulian vines in danger of extinction. The wines are produced exclusively with grapes coming from lands with a particular vocation, in which the grapes are bred according to the canons of an ancient memory. The symbol is an askos, a Greek "decanter" from the 1st century BC.

Verdeca from the Masseria Li Veli estate is grown in the Salento area using only "Verdeca" grapes, the grapes are harvested manually in wooden boxes in the period of mid-September and are then vinified in steel at a controlled temperature. The wine finishes its preparation with a 3-month refinement in steel and is then left to rest in the bottle.

Verdeca from the Masseria Li Veli estate has a straw yellow color with green nuances, the nose has fruity hints of tropical fruit, green citrus fruits and fresh spices. On the palate it has a full, harmonious taste, with good acidity. Fruity and spicy aftertaste.
