Diplomatico Mantuano

The Diplomatic Distillery was founded in 1959 in the fertile countryside near Barquisimeto, the capital of the Venezuelan state of Lara, where there are sugar cane plantations from which are obtained among the best rums in the world. The distillery and all the land owned were purchased in the late 1990s by a group of Venezuelan entrepreneurs led by José Rafael Ballesteros, who already owned a leading company in the sector. The name is inspired by the nobleman Don Juancho, very popular in the region and nicknamed "mantuano", a gentleman, fond of rum and in search of the best spirits in South America. The careful manufacturing process, the excellence of the raw material and the aging in precious barriques used to produce Bourbon, are the basis of the success of Diplomatic Rum exported in 63 countries and recognized among those of high quality.

Rum Mantuano is known for its great variety of aromas enclosed in a dark amber-colored distillate with mahogany reflections. On the nose, notes of raisins, dates, lemon balm, banana and vanilla stand out, while hints of orange peel and slightly toasted nuts envelop the palate in a long and persistent finish with a spicy aftertaste. The aging in barrels ex Bourbon enhances this aromatic explosion which represents a real tribute to quality Rums.
