Tenuta Montauto is a small reality immersed in the heart of the Maremma surrounded by a rocky environment and nothing else without any presence of civilization except the provincial road with little traffic, where nature has given as much as the clayey soil rich in minerals such as quartz and the proximity to the sea which is just over ten km away as the crow flies which ensures a beneficial breeze which dries the grapes in humid periods and refreshes in hot periods and at the same time brings iodine to the vineyard. Therefore a particularly suitable area that only needs to be accompanied in producing quality grapes for great wines and this concept was understood by grandfather Enos even if at the time there were no in-depth studies on the terroir as is the case today, but learned with sensitivity peasant of those who live in the vineyard and who made the decision to plant Sauvignon cuttings where the production of red wines was preferred. In the vineyard we work in full respect of nature by producing grapes without the use of pesticides. This is the landscape context that strongly attracts Riccardo, Enos' grandson, who at a certain point in his life after completing his studies feels the need to return to his native land to continue his grandfather's work and thus bring the Tenuta Montauto winery to be appreciated in Italy and in the world.

Vermentino Tenuta Montauto is produced from grapes from vineyards that reach up to 30 years of age managed in a natural way without the aid of fertilizers or pesticides treated when necessary only with sulfur and rarely with copper and fertilized with stable manure. The soils are clayey and rich in quartz with an altitude of about 200 asl and not far from the sea. When fully ripe, the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and placed in small crates; the harvest takes place only and exclusively in the early hours of the day to preserve its integrity from spontaneous fermentations. Once they arrive in the Cellar, they rest in cold rooms to have a greater extraction of the perfumes and avoid oxidation and are then de-stemmed and softly pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature. The stabilization is done cold.

Vermentino Tenuta Montauto has a yellow color with greenish reflections and a nose that immediately manifests itself as intriguing and of personality with floral hints, yellow pulp fruit and then herbaceous and vegetable sensations. A fullness emerges on the palate helped by a good minerality and an acidity that makes it complete and balanced.
