Tenuta Montauto is a small reality immersed in the heart of the Maremma surrounded by a rocky environment and nothing else without any presence of civilization except the provincial road with little traffic, where nature has given as much as the clayey soil rich in minerals such as quartz and the proximity to the sea which is just over ten km away as the crow flies which ensures a beneficial breeze which dries the grapes in humid periods and refreshes in hot periods and at the same time brings iodine to the vineyard. Therefore a particularly suitable area that only needs to be accompanied in producing quality grapes for great wines and this concept was understood by grandfather Enos even if at the time there were no in-depth studies on the terroir as is the case today, but learned with sensitivity peasant of those who live in the vineyard and who made the decision to plant Sauvignon cuttings where the production of red wines was preferred. In the vineyard we work in full respect of nature by producing grapes without the use of pesticides. This is the landscape context that strongly attracts Riccardo, Enos' grandson, who at a certain point in his life after completing his studies feels the need to return to his native land to continue his grandfather's work and thus bring the Tenuta Montauto winery to be appreciated in Italy and in the world.

Gessaia Sauvignon Tenuta Montauto is produced from grapes that come from 15-year-old vines, managed with natural methods without the use of synthetic substances and fertilized with stable manure. The soil is clayey with the presence of quartz, unique and fortunate, immersed in the nature of the Maremma and caressed by the sea breeze. The density is 4000 vines/hectare with the spurred cordon system. After manual harvesting, the grapes reach the cold room to stay overnight in order to preserve aromas and prevent uncontrolled fermentation. The pressing of the grapes is soft and the fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature.

The Sauvignon Gessaia Tenuta Montauto has a straw yellow color with a delicate but intriguing nose with vegetal, citrus and mineral notes. Full and broad on the palate, fresh and enveloping with a savory finish.
