The Lechburg winery has its roots in the wine tradition of the Lechinta area in Romania in the enchanted and fairytale territory of Transylvania. We are on the slopes of the Carpathian Mountains in an uncontaminated area made of wild nature, in the lands of the Saxon Grands Crus with a strong viticultural vocation, where the Saxon settlers from the Rhine and Moselle Valleys planted their vineyards as early as the 12th century. Following the end of the Second World War, many of the winemakers returned to their homeland. Todays the economic growth of the country connected to european integration have attracted foreign investors, and in this context, a family of Italian origin in 2015 acquired the Lechburg winery built in 1962, where 20,000 hectoliters a year were produced and stored for the Lechinta wine cooperative, denominated DOC for its value. The new company course has based its production philosophy on the practice of organic farming, respecting the environment in a perfect balance between tradition and innovation, of which the old recovered and modernized concrete tanks are an example. The terroir enjoys excellent climatic exposures sheltered by the Carpathian chain and kissed by the sun during the ripening periods of the grapes, grown on clayey hilly soils rich in mineral deposits. All excellent conditions and excellent certified organic wines.

Pinot Noir from Lechburg is produced on the hills around Lechinta in the heart of Transylvania on well-exposed vineyards and ideal for the expression of one of the oldest known varieties. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand, the whole bunches of which are sent to a delicate pressing and soft pressing. Fermentation takes place slowly at a controlled temperature in concrete tanks, where the wine refines on fine yeasts for 5/7 months. An elegant wine that well represents its noble and ancient origin.
