Tequila Reposado by Olmeca Altos is a perfect synthesis between the freshly distilled one and the long aging labels, refining 6 months in wood once the distillation is complete. The color is bright amber, while the bouquet is complex with aromas of dried fruit, vanilla, honey with hints of noble woods, spices and toasted notes. A Tequila full of character to be enjoyed smooth.
The history of Tequila Olmeca Altos is linked to two bartenders Andrés Masso and Henry Besant who, after obtaining awards and recognitions, decide to test themselves with the production of quality Tequila, recognizing its growth margins in the world of spirits. This is how Olmeca Altos comes to life after involving the Tequilero master Jesùs Hernandez in the project. The basic assumption is the search for the best raw material such as the Weber blue agave plants harvested at 2000 meters on rich soils of volcanic origin to produce the two labels Tequila Blanco and Tequila Reposado, among the best in all of Mexico.
Tequila Reposado is obtained from Weber blue agave plants harvested at high altitude and hand-cut when they are 8 years old. The cooking process takes place in brick ovens for 3 days, after which the agave is pressed and left to ferment thanks solely to indigenous yeasts. The precious liquid obtained is subjected to a double distillation in copper stills and then aged for 6 months in wooden barrels previously used for whisky. A Tequila with a great aromatic complexity, expression of ancient tradition and great mastery.
