It was the abbot Pierre Pérignon who according to legend first invented Champagne in the abbey of Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers, near Eperney in the Grand Cru of the Vallé de la Marne. In 1936 Robert-Jean de Vogue produced the first Champagne Dom Pérignon from the Maison Moët & Chandon. The goal was to create a cuvée de prestige by selecting the best vintages and enhancing the noble origins of Champagne and the great legacy of Pierre Pérignon. Since the year 2000 Dom Pérignon has been an independent Maison, one of the few that knows how to create that magical harmony between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir worthy of the greatest Champagne ever.

Rosè Dom Pérignon is the perfect synthesis between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, raising the black grape variety to its maximum expression of fragility and vibrant tension after a long wait of 10 years. The 2005 vintage was characterized by strong contrasts, torrid heat in August and long rains in September, producing limited quantities but unparalleled high aromatic quality. The elegant structure of this Champagne combines perfectly with seafood, but does not disdain well-structured meat dishes, thanks to its pleasant minerality.
